Vans and Fleets – Careful with Fuel

Recently both individuals and operators using vans for their everyday business activities are getting more and more concerned over rising fuel prices. Recently both individuals and operators using vans for their everyday business activities are getting more and more concerned over rising fuel prices. Everyone is trying to find providers or petrol stations where their vans could be fuelled up without spending high prices. The recent rise in the pump price as of September the 1st is at a level of 2p-a-litre. And petrol prices are set to increase again on the 1st of January 2010. As a result fleet operators, individuals and owners of medium-size companies are all advised to use every possible tool in their armory to keep fuel costs for vans under control and, at the same time, eliminate any unnecessary expenditure. All that action shall be done with a view to staying afloat, maintaining cash flow and generating profits whenever possible. Bigger companies and fleet operators that can afford for economies of scale may find the current situation as the right moment for implementing software systems, which control every fueling of vans and enable tracking costs therefore showing potential areas for cost effectiveness actions. Private individuals will probably not take advantage of such software, but they are able to find a cheaper local fuel provider or sometimes negotiate the pump price if they have several vans.
